FoodState is seeking a Director of Research and Development to join our growing team!

Direct projects and a Research and Development Team while ensuring that FoodState’s meets its objectives for researching and developing new products and improving existing products.  Ensure that projects and products meet customer demands and contribute to FoodState’s revenue growth.


  • Direct the Research and Development (R&D) team, from new product proposal to commercialization.
  • Drive accountability, consistency, quality, and process standardization across all phases of research and development.
  • Develop and monitor research plans and budgets for R&D projects, ensuring projects are completed on time and within cost objectives.
  • Coordinate Science, Research and Technical aspects of projects.
  • Ensure that stakeholders are kept fully informed.
  • Act as R & D subject matter expert and collaborator/advisor with the Brand and Operations Teams regarding manufacturing capabilities, product and machine acquisitions, market trends, and new technologies.

  • Ability to develop complete and accurate budgets, project justifications and timelines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a science discipline; Advanced degree is a plus
  • Strong project management skills
  • 10+ years of related Research and Development experience in the CPG and/or natural products industry
  • 5+ years of management experience mentoring and growing a staff
