Territory Sales Leader - Central North Florida

MegaFood is looking for a driven and passionate Territory Leader for North Central Florida. This territory is defined as:  Sarasota to Melbourne and North to Jacksonville (including Gainsville). 

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

  • Maintains call cycle and objectives as directed by Regional Sales Leader and sales leadership.
  • Conducts store resets as needed and as directed by Regional Sales Leader, Strategic Account Team and/or sales leadership.
  • Reports timely and accurately on promotional activity with strategic accounts including photos, pricing details, SKU selection, etc. to sales leadership and Strategic Account Team as requested.
  • Develops a territory business plan for assigned territory, which quantifies the potential opportunity, and provides regular reporting around plan.
  • Works closely to identify improvement opportunities, training and education needs and account growth with respective accounts.
  • Ensures the effective use of marketing materials, and monitors merchandising tools such as samples, carstock and POS materials. Also, maintains and tracks samples and carstock budgets as directed by sales leadership.
  • Stays within discounting budgets (as created and specified from Regional Sales Leader and sales leadership.)
  • Utilizes field time to evaluate, train and develop accounts

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES    

SALES:

  • Increases sales in respective accounts, in accordance with company goals and targets.
  •  Proactively implements MegaFood sales strategies and tactics for revenue improvement, cost savings solutions, and overall team effectiveness.
  • Prepares and communicates sales information and marketing programs to customers as directed from sales leadership.
  • Drives effective launch of MegaFood in new accounts or channels (if directed) in the respective region.
  • Monitors and achieves on a monthly/quarterly basis new and existing business volume goals.
  • Drives new business opportunity with new accounts and/or new areas of distribution

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & STRATEGY:

  • Builds and maintains relationships with existing and new retailers including Strategic Accounts, Regional Accounts and Independents. This includes initiating communication, identifying needs, and recommending appropriate strategies to meet those needs and building collaborative partner relationships.
  • Measures and monitors MegaFood market share penetration in the territory and by channel partner as required.

TRAINING & EDUCATION:

  • Manages accounts, auditing and visiting customers within the region assigned, and executing standardized procedures for customer training.
  • Educates and trains customers/retail partners as needed and as directed by sales leadership.
  • Prepares and participates in regularly scheduled web trainings, teleconference meetings, retailer trainings (both in-aisle and larger staff trainings).
  • Follows product training objectives and methodologies per the Brand Team and sales leadership.
  • Manages, coordinates and provides logistical support for education projects as assigned

EVENTS:

  • Participates in general sales meetings, sales calls and/or other sales and training events as directed by sales leadership.
  • Participates in trade exhibitions, and contributes to the development process and execution of trade show events.
  • Performs demos/education events as needed and as requested from sales leadership.

COMMUNICATIONS:

  • Calls and visits prospective and existing customers and establish buying cycles, customer needs, and create a strategic customer relationship.
  • Enters call/routing information into MegaFood’s appropriate reporting system on a timely basis and as directed by sales leadership.
  • Ensures communications are timely, accurate, and meet internal expenditure and budget requirements per MegaFood sales leadership.
  • Prepares and presents reports/presentations for customers, sales organization and leadership as needed and as directed by sales leadership.
  • Collects and communicates to leadership all relative business data, store reports, and pertinent information as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-4 years of field sales experience selling a branded consumer product preferably in the natural products industry
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Requires approximately 30% overnight travel
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
